I just bought..

Lenovo Y50

After ages of suffering and eternal conflict against my shitty computer that spawned 6 years ago, I was able to find a good deal for a good laptop for my upcoming uni life :)

AND IT ARRIVED *Hearthstone legendary summoning sound*

4Pretty hard to get the texture on camera but its not as exaggerated in the photos. Rather subtle and classy in real life!

So.. What does Bermuda do as soon as he gets a new laptop…?

RIP IT OPEN.

It was VERY hard to get the back cover open. (Some lift&slide action with a lot of force was required. The horrible noise of plastic breaking? did not help.)

6Internals close-up. Everything can be accessed easily.

Not really happy about SSHD since I don’t carry much stuff around, opted to go for faster and less fragile SSD.

7One of the lowest power consumption SSD.. :) 840EVO!

Sweet.. :)

Spec:

i7-4700HQ
8GB DDR3
860M 4GB VRAM
840EVO 250GB

It’s overall really solid laptop with good build quality. The keyboard layout is good and keys are tactile. The trackpad is not that bad as it may seem, however the screen is horrible with a horrendous viewing angle. Lack of USB ports can lead to some inconvenience. 860M runs very cool and quietly, runs maxed out Dota 2 at 100+ fps :) I had no problem programming casual stuff with 4700HQ.
